Firing, demoting, cutting hours, threatening or otherwise punishing a worker for a safety complaint, for reporting an injury, for testifying or for asking for a Cal/OSHA inspection is unlawful retaliation under Labor Code 6310; a complaint to the Labor Commissioner's Retaliation Complaint Investigation unit must be filed within one year, and a civil lawsuit is also available.
